Every year that I have posted in my blog I have displayed this picture and brought this message. This year, especially, when I really have nothing at all to give or receive, the real meaning of Christmas becomes apparent.
I know, people run around with "Let's not forget the reason for the season" and "God Bless You" and "Be Of Good Cheer" and all the other platitudes (yes, I said platitudes because that's what they've become) on their lips. Where's the real love and meaning behind those over-used sayings?
Again, I say, watch TV for twenty minutes. The bigger the toy, the more beautiful the diamond or the nicer the car you can give is the gift YOU should be giving. To hell with everything else! Make certain that BMW has a diamond bracelet hanging from the rearview mirror and the latest G10000 phone sitting on the passenger seat. Fill the back seat and trunk with every toy that man has ever though of and Christmas will be all set Feed your family the finest meals and best chocolates and cookies, drink the best champange in a perfect home perfectly decorated to the nth degree and your Christmas will be perfect.
While you're cleaning up all the wrapping and food scraps and scrubbing wine out of your carpeting and bitching about the holidays remember this and only this:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that, whoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life: (John 3:16)
Merry Christmas from a homeless man who has everything he needs.
Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalks us all our life. I rather think of time as a companion that goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment...because they will never come again.
